American Way Editorial Overview
American Way, the bi-weekly inflight magazine of American Airlines, caters to busy travelers who want to be in-the-know and desire information quickly and easily. The magazine delivers timely, useful, and interesting information on topics that appeal to our audience of affluent, educated, frequent travelers.
Whether it's someone from the world of sports, film, music, or business Star Story is a straight-up
story about the person - their life, family, passions and interests and how they found their way to the "road to stardom".
The magazine opens with the UpFront section, which delivers a diverse collection of short bits on everything from food to wine to travel to sports to music to events. It's an essential for both business and leisure travelers alike.
Next, Departments and Features make up the bulk of the magazine and provide fascinating glimpses into the "world-at-large." Whether readers are interested in leisure, business, or travel topics, it's all here in every issue.
The magazine closes with the Down-Low section, which highlights the worlds of music and television on the 1st of each month and focuses on books and movies on the 15th of each month.
The Road Warrior issue is the most anticipated issue each year. It all begins with the Road Warrior contest, in which thousands of our passengers answer essay questions, solve puzzles, and more, telling us why they deserve the coveted title of Road Warrior. The special March 1 Road Warrior issue features the five winners on the cover and throughout the magazine. There's lots of useful, and often humorous, information that all travelers can learn from.
Additionally, American Way publishes annual issues with editorial themes such as Entertainment, Going Green, Best Of, and Road Warrior. We also feature special advertising sections on Texas Tales, Luxurious Trends, Choose Chicago. These sections focus on subjects American Way readers are passionate about, to the advantage of marketers anxious to reach them.
